Flat tummy tips.

As great as it is to have a balanced diet, it’s also vital to incorporate exercise into your daily routine to aid in quick results and to benefit your health overall!

Here are some tips to achieve a flat and toned belly:

1. Drink a glass of water before eating
2. Eat five small meals a day
3. Eat slowly
4. Do cardio for at least 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week
5. Know your serving sizes
6. Good posture: it strengthens stomach muscles
7. Swim!
8. Cut out fast food, soda and sweets
9. Do push ups and reverse sit ups, accurately
10. Never skip breakfast, if anything, make it your biggest meal of the day
11. Drink lots of water everyday
12. Get at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night
13. Cut out or cut down alcohol consumption, and aim to keep away from beers and high sugar content drinks
14. Reduce salt intake
15. Avoid stress- meditate!
16. Colour your plate. The more green the better.
17. Don’t starve yourself
18. 2 fruit, 5 veg.
19. Enrich your diet with fiber.
20. Plank. Incorporate leg lifts.
21. Climb stairs
22. Do yoga
23. Smile and stay inspired

  1. Great tips (especially yoga, which I’m totally in love with). You know what I’ve actually been a fan of, as well? I was a fairly hardcore runner and could run for such long spurts, but my body shape wasn’t changing, so I started incorporating heavy weights. Holy crap, it made a huge difference! I’m at the smallest I’ve ever been but probably stronger and more developed than ever. There’s a lot of myths out there about getting too big while lifting, but unless you’re eating a crapload, it’s just not going to happen.

    • Hi Jess. Aw that’s great to hear about your results using weights! I have heard that weight training is a great way to tone down and that it keeps your metabolism burning hours after the work-out. I’ll definitely incorporate heaving weights into my next work-out session. May I ask what type of weights training you do and how many reps of each etc?
